ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hi, I'm Kayla! I'm a fine artist based in Southwest Florida who specializes in pen and watercolor portraits of homes and other notable architectural structures. 

I've always been passionate about art, but have discovered a new appreciation for drawing buildings after winning a contest hosted a few years ago by a local stationery shop in which I entered a drawing of a restaurant in my hometown. The process of creating that piece was so gratifying that I didn't want to stop drawing buildings after that, and still don't. I started out drawing local buildings and doing a bit of commission work, after that I discovered a love for Victorian homes and their endless character, and recently I've shifted into drawing famous homes that many of you may recognize, and also beach and vacation homes.

I've had an appreciation for detail and line work since I was really young and have always incorporated that into my art. Drawing buildings allows me to introduce an extensive amount of detail and texture into my work, which is exceptionally therapeutic to me.
I hope you appreciate my art and what I do, it's undoubtedly special to me.
